Ben Plattes was lied to. The visible spectrum promised him an honest view of the world through the lens of a camera, but study of photography only taught Ben more ways to modify perception and warp reality. The elaborate manipulation of lighting and focus sickened him.

So Ben gave up control of his artistic environment, creating scenarios where the viewers modify their own experience through heat lamps and dimmers - or are entrusted with living plants, and the systems of irrigation and grow lamps that allow them to flourish. Or die.
